Drake also released “Hotline Bling” in October, which shot up the charts. The accompanying music video also became wildly successful due to the 29-year-old’s ridiculous dancing.
Ed Sheeran, who was 2014’s most-streamed artist, came in second place. The Weeknd, Maroon 5 and Kanye West rounded out the top five.
The Weeknd’s wildly-successful “Beauty Behind the Madness” was the most-streamed album.
Rihanna was streamed 1 billion times, making her the most popular female act.
